In my travels around Australia I would say my favourite bluewater landbased destinations are Point Quobba and Steep Point in WA.

I have had some great fun on SA jetties fishing for squid and tommies.

Don't mind surf fishing for tailor off Kingscliff etc either - surf fishing is great and it is the one thing I miss as a resident of Darwin, NT.

In the NT landbased fishing is a bit of a problem because of crocodiles but there are some spots where you can get a barramundi from the shore, with care.

Gotta say I used to enjoy fishing off Adelaide beaches for whiting and mullet too when I was a kid ...

Being from the south coast of NSW and not having the chance to fish in any other state as yet, some of my favourite spots so far are as follows.

Stockton beach - chasing Mulloway, Bream, Tailor, Salmon, Whiting and Flathead.

Tomaree Heads (Nelsons Bay) - chasing Tuna and Cobia.

Jervis Bay - chasing Marlin and Tuna.

Pretty Point (Batemans Bay) - chasing Kingfish and Snapper.

There are heaps of other little known places that I frequent as well which all produce a good feed.

I dont do as much land based fishing anymore, I know I should but the boat always gets in first! Although I do still have a favorite sand whiting spot a like to go to every now and then.
