I'm by no means a good thrower of a cast net. I use to have a 8ft net which I always had trouble getting a nice even spread on. My brother suggested getting a 12ft net which I did and now I nearly always get a good circle. I always thought a smaller net would be easier to throw, not the case with me.
I use the method that starts with part of the net on your shoulder.
